Family Room at St. David's Medical Center

Pictured, Ronald McDonald House Charities Staff celebrates with Ronald McDonald at the ribbon cutting of the Family Room at St. David's Medical Center on June 28, 2012.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room at St. David’s Medical Center is a place of care and comfort for Austin and Central Texas families with infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. Austin’s third and largest Family Room will provide families with a healing respite from the beeping machines and stress of the NICU. You can view photos from our Ribbon Cutting ceremony here. Also, read Kent's blog post about how it all came to be. Watch the video from the grand opening.
More Volunteers are Needed to Provide Services for Families
Volunteers staff the Family Room from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and help create a peaceful space for families with a child in the NICU. Families can spend the night in one of four sleeping rooms, take a shower in one of the ADA accessible restrooms, enjoy a snack, access the internet on one of the Family Room computers, watch TV, visit with other families or simply get away from the beeping of the hospital monitors for a few moments.
